Memo RE: Chiropractor’s importance in this current climate of COVID-19
To: Governor Greg Abbott
The Chiropractic Society of Texas has, at its core, a responsibility to protect Chiropractic in the great State of Texas. With this in mind, and in light of the current situation with COVID-19, we know that Chiropractors statewide can continue to offer quality healthcare to their patients, thereby lessening the load on the healthcare infrastructure as a whole. Keeping Chiropractors’ offices open so patients may choose to get the healthcare they need is the reason I write you today, on behalf of all Chiropractors across the State of Texas.
In October of 2019, as part of a proclamation for Chiropractic health month, you stated, “I encourage all Texans to learn more about the vital role that chiropractors play in the health care field and how chiropractic services can benefit their lives.” You also stated, “I commend Texas chiropractors for their commitment and efforts to improve the quality of life for all Texans..”
These words you stated were absolutely accurate. This sentiment is exactly why right now, more than ever, Chiropractors need to be left to do what they do best: improve the quality of life of every Texan.
We see Chiropractors as essential resources in the health of Texans at this very time, and with their continued efforts, we know that Chiropractic can continue to be a huge asset to the health of Texans.
We ask that in the event of a further shutdown of businesses, you not lose sight of the importance the chiropractic profession has in the quality of life of every Texan.
